Kia ora Mosen at Largers. Here’s what’s coming up in our next two-hour show that’s got the blind community talking.

HumanWare will soon be releasing its much anticipated third generation of the Victor Reader Stream audio player. Mathieu Paquette and Dominic Labbe from HumaanWare sit down for an interview in which they discuss all that’s new in terms of hardware and software. Earlier in the week, I asked followers of Mosen at Large on Mastodon, and subscribers to our Mosen Media email list, what they’d like to know about the new Stream. I was able to ask many of those questions and I’m sure you’ll find the interview informative.
There has been a lot of talk about the way Aira has been communicating with blind people of late. This got me thinking about whether there might be a different, more empowering more cost-effective way to do visual interpretation. I’m going to bounce some ideas off you in this episode and I would welcome your thoughts.
If you’re blind, and you are by yourself, a bar shouldn’t serve you alcohol because you don’t have a care giver, and you’re a health and safety risk. This is the extraordinary message Australian Vanessa Ransley was given when she tried to order a cocktail in a bar. By the way, in case you’ve lost track of the time, this is 2023.
Bonnie is here with her bulletin which contains granddaughter news, and a few gadgets, some small, some absolutely enormous. Can you even call something this big a gadget?

There’s plenty more on the show as well. If you want to raise something new, you’re very welcome. Please don’t be shy, I’d love to hear from you. What makes Mosen At Large special is the global community we’ve built and all the perspectives we share with each other.
